Ten miles up SR-46
Sorrento is the closest city we serve after Apopka — about 10 road miles up SR-46 from the shop on Breezy Meadow Road — and it is ideal tent country. Rural acreage, equestrian properties, barn venues and the Red Tail golf community near Mount Plymouth all have the open ground a full tent, table and chair setup wants, without the fences and pool decks that complicate suburban yards. Sorrento gets our flat $59 delivery and the shortest delivery windows of any city we serve beyond our home base.
What people book here
Backyard weddings and family reunions on acreage are the signature Sorrento order: a 20×40 or 40×40 high peak tent in an open field, ten to fifteen 60-inch rounds, a hundred chairs, a dark walnut dance floor and tent lighting, because the nearest streetlight is a long way off. Graduation parties and barn celebrations run a size down — a 20×20, fifty folding chairs and 8-foot tables. Red Tail and Heathrow Country Estates homes book the more formal padded-chair setups.
Open fields, long drives and wind
Open ground means wind. We stake deep in Sorrento’s sandy soil and add ratchet lines to anything 20×40 and larger as standard, and we set the tent so the open field is not funneling the afternoon breeze straight through it. Long unpaved drives are common — tell us at booking and we send the right truck and plan the approach so the crew is not backing a trailer down a sand track in the dark.
Permits
Sorrento is unincorporated Lake County. Tents up to 900 square feet are exempt from the Florida Fire Prevention Code; tents over 900 square feet or with any side 30 feet or longer need a Lake County permit and a fire-protection review, which we prepare and schedule around. Barn venues that host the public may have their own event permit through the county’s Special Event process — ask the venue and we will match whatever window they are given.
A realistic Sorrento wedding order
For 100 guests on acreage: a 40×40 high peak tent, thirteen 60-inch rounds with floor-length linens, a hundred padded resin chairs, a 16×16 dance floor, 40×40 tent lighting, a skirted bar and a couple of extension cords from the add-ons list.
