Thirteen miles down the 429
Ocoee is one of the closest cities we serve — about 13 road miles from the shop straight down SR-429 — so it gets the flat $59 delivery, early morning windows, and a crew that has worked most of the neighborhoods between Clarke Road and Starke Lake. The typical Ocoee order is a family reunion or a graduation party: a 20×20 or 20×40 high peak tent, sixty to a hundred folding chairs, and 8-foot tables for the food line, set up in a Forest Oaks or Wesmere backyard or at a reserved park pavilion.
The lake parks
Ocoee’s best public spaces are on Starke Lake. Bill Breeze Park sits next to the Ocoee Lakeshore Center with a wedding pavilion, a gazebo and an acre of open lawn — it is rented through the city’s Parks & Leisure office (407-905-3180) and it is the nicest lakefront lawn in West Orange. Vignetti Park has pavilions and fields that families reserve for birthday parties, Prairie Lake Park and Tiger Minor Park cover the smaller gatherings, and the Jim Beech Recreation Center handles indoor events. Reserve first, then send us the approved window; we set up inside it and bring a certificate of insurance if the city asks.
Ground, water tables and storms
Ocoee yards are mostly sandy soil and stake well. Lots backing onto Starke Lake and Prairie Lake sit on a higher water table after summer storms, so we bring longer stakes and check for soft ground before raising a frame. On paver patios and pool decks — common in the newer Clarke Road subdivisions — we anchor with weighted footings so nothing is drilled or staked.
Permits in Ocoee
Florida exempts tents up to 900 square feet from the Fire Prevention Code, which covers our 20×20 (400 sq ft) and 20×40 (800 sq ft). The City of Ocoee requires permits for most temporary structures and asks anyone unsure to call the Building Division at 407-905-3104; for a specific address we make that call before your event so you are not guessing. Our 40×40 and larger tents exceed the state line and get a fire review either way — we handle the paperwork and schedule around it.
What a 60-guest Ocoee reunion costs
A 20×40 high peak tent, sixty white folding chairs, eight 8-foot tables, a 32-gallon trash can and a drum fan from the add-ons list, and $59 delivery. Add $0.95 per chair and $2.95 per table if you want the crew to set them out. The totals are on the catalog pages; for Ocoee the delivery line is the flat $59.
