The lakefront wedding floor
Maitland’s dance floors go under wedding tents on Lake Sybelia and onto terraces in Dommerich Hills and Druid Hills: the 16×16 under a 20×40 high peak tent with ten rounds around it, the 12×12 on a terrace for an anniversary party, the 20×20 under a 40×40 for the big reception. One dark walnut finish, three sizes, every price on this page, installation included. Maitland is about 18 road miles from the shop, so delivery prices around $75 for the whole order, shown at checkout.
Sloped lawns and the sub-floor
Maitland’s lakefront lots slope toward the water, and a dance floor has to be level or it is not a dance floor. The crew checks the grade first, sets the sub-floor on the flattest section of lawn — moving the floor a few feet rather than building up a slope — and shims until it is dead level. On brick terraces and docks the sub-floor sits on pads so nothing is scratched. Mature oaks: the floor goes where the ground is smooth, clear of roots.
Which size
- 12×12 — up to about 50 guests; an anniversary party on the terrace.
- 16×16 — 80–100 guests; the wedding floor under a 20×40.
- 20×20 — 120–160 guests; under a 40×40 with twenty rounds.
Rule of thumb: three square feet per guest on the floor at once, about a third of the guests dancing at any moment.
Parks
Lake Lily Park, Fort Maitland Park, Quinn Strong Park and Maitland Community Park are reserved through the City of Maitland; we install inside your approved window with a certificate of insurance on request. A dance floor needs no permit; a tent over 901 square feet gets an Orange County review — see our Maitland tent page.
The rest of the package
A 20×40 or 40×40 high peak tent, tent lighting, 60-inch rounds with floor-length linens, padded resin chairs, a skirted bar and a sweetheart table go in the same checkout — one delivery fee, one crew, one bill.
