Formal tents on quiet streets
Maitland books the wedding tent more than the party tent. Backyard weddings on Lake Sybelia and milestone birthdays in Dommerich Hills and Druid Hills ask for a 20×20 or 20×40 high peak tent over 60-inch rounds with floor-length linens and padded resin chairs, often with a dark walnut dance floor and tent lighting for an evening reception. All seven sizes we rent are aluminum-frame high peak tents with no center pole; prices for each are on this page, live from the catalog, with setup and breakdown included.
Maitland is about 18 road miles from the shop via SR-414 and Maitland Boulevard, a few miles past our 15-mile flat zone; delivery prices around $75 for the whole order and the exact figure for your address shows at checkout.
Slopes, oaks and docks
Maitland’s lakefront lots slope toward the water and the older neighborhoods are full of mature oaks. The crew levels the frame with adjustable legs, checks the footprint for grade before staking, and keeps stakes clear of the roots that run just under the turf — we would rather move the tent three feet than cut a root. Docks, boardwalks and paver terraces get weighted footings instead of stakes. Tents facing Lake Maitland, Lake Sybelia or Lake Lily get extra ratchet lines; the afternoon breeze off the water is reliable.
Permits in Maitland
Maitland addresses fall under Orange County’s tent rules: tents over 901 square feet get an additional Fire Marshal review through the county’s Fast Track permit system, with a dimensioned site plan and the tent’s up-and-down dates. Florida exempts tents up to 900 square feet from the Fire Prevention Code, so a 20×40 (800 sq ft) needs no review; a 40×40 does, and we prepare the application and build the review into your delivery date — book large tents two weeks out.
Sizing a Maitland wedding
- 40–50 guests — 20×20 with five rounds, or a 20×40 if you want the dance floor under cover.
- 80 guests — 20×40 with ten rounds, a 12×12 or 16×16 dance floor, a skirted bar and lighting.
- 120–160 guests — 40×40, with the Orange County review scheduled ahead.
A 20×40 wants roughly 24×44 of flat ground once stakes and guy lines are counted; sloped lawns need a little more. Send a photo and the dimensions and we will tell you honestly what fits.
Parks
Lake Lily Park, Fort Maitland Park (rentable pavilion on Lake Maitland), Quinn Strong Park and Maitland Community Park are city facilities; reserve through the City of Maitland, send us the approved window, and we set up inside it with a certificate of insurance on request.
